Justin and I were looking for something to do around Denver on a random weekend. I started doing research on my phone of little hidden gems in our area, and stumbled upon a field of wild sunflowers just outside of Denver, near the airport.
It was only about 25 minutes from our apartment, so we decided to take a spontaneous drive out there to see them and take some photos. Little did we know, the sunflowers were no longer in season and it was a super gloomy day! I had read somewhere that they bloomed during fall, so I thought it would be the perfect time to see them, but boy, was I wrong! While we were there, it started to sprinkle a bit, cutting our visit a little short, but we still had a ton of fun exploring the field.
Even though the sunflowers weren't in season, the huge field was a beautiful sight to see. Justin and I stayed positive the whole time and made the most out of our silly trip. But we will absolutely be back next year during spring or summer to see the sunflowers in all their glory!
